Justification - The Battle of Shiloh was chosen because of how we thought that the role if it was very important since this was one of the first and most bloodiest victories for the Union States during the American Civil War.
Topic - Battle of Shiloh is about how Confederate soldiers ambushed Union soldiers in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. The battle took place from April 6 to April 7, 1862 due to heavy casualties and no training or experience on both sides during the battle. As Confederate soldiers were attacking Union soldiers, many generals on both sides were killed, both suffered heavy loses, and eventually the Confederate army was pushed back towards a church and retreated, but did not give up easily. The kept firing at Union soldiers, but the Confederate soldiers eventually retreated, causing the Union to win the battle, but also causing both sides to have many deaths and wounded.
North Perspective - As Union forces were stationed at a campsite in Tennessee with Ulysses S. Grant as their general, Confederate soldiers ambushed the camp, causing a bloody battle to start. At first, most Union soldiers died, but the Union soldiers were then ordered to retreat and form a defense. When the Union soldiers finally came together, Grant and his men came together with another Union army with Don Carlos Buell as their general. The two armies would then attack the Confederate forces. However, Don Carlos Buell would be killed during battle, but the Union armies would outnumber the Confederate forces and force the Confederate soldiers to retreat, causing the Union States to win the Battle of Shiloh. However, both sides suffered heavy casualties and were slowly recovering.
